Young researcher discussion session with Prof. K. El-Badry

June 6

Free

Prof. Kareem El-Badry of Caltech University will visit the Solvay Institutes the first week of June in the context of the New Horizons Lectures in Physics.

In addition to the official lectures – to be announced separately – I will host an informal discussion session with Prof. El-Badry specifically aimed at junior scientists (PhD students, postdocs,..). The main goal is to offer early career researchers a chance to exchange on career-related subjects with Prof. El-Badry in an informal setting who, in the words of the Solvay Institutes, is “a brilliant young scientists with […] high visibility and […] stature.”. I intend to broach themes such as “setting priorities” and “formulating good research questions” as well as “developing collaborations”. The emphasis is on “informal” and “exchange”, so any and all questions or discussion themes are welcome.

This discussion session will take place on the morning 11h-13h of the 6th of June. Please send me  an email if you would like to attend, such that I can arrange for a venue and an amount of coffee that is suited to the number of participants.
