Research area
The team focuses on two main research directions within the broad area of dynamic systems modelling, monitoring and control, namely 1) supervision and fault diagnosis of technical systems based on mathematical models, 2) advanced control of nonlinear dynamic system subject to constraints. Model based fault diagnosis aims at detecting and locating at an early stage the degradations in the operation of a technical system. With regard to space applications, the focus is on reusable launchers. More particularly, a health monitoring system is studied and developed for the electromechanical actuators used for the orientation of the nozzle and the grid fins notably. This should allow to check the proper operation of the devices without dismounting them and to plan maintenance operations when needed.
